MUSTANG POINTS

October 17, 2011

Mt. Erie Elementary has an awesome school community and working together with the PTA helps keep it that way! One of the ways to do this is through a fun program called MUSTANG POINTS. Throughout the year, classes earn Mustang Points and have a friendly competition with other classes in their group: K-2nd, 3rd & 4th, and 5th & 6th grade. Classes with the most  points at the end of the trimesters are rewarded with a prize. In the past, winning classes have gotten small prizes, special recesses, or even pizza parties. Families can help classes earn Mustang Points by supporting  PTA events. At PTA events, a sign-in sheet is put out and parents should sign it to make sure your class gets more points. Points are also awarded for attending PTA meetings, being a PTA member, serving on committees, and participating in different service projects. Progress can be tracked on the bulletin board just inside the front doors.

Help us make this a record-breaking year of Mustang Points! GO MUSTANGS!

Mustang Points

September 8, 2010

For those of you who were here the last two years, you might be wondering about Mustang Points.  Kids were able to turn in the WOW cards they earned from the para-educator support staff and parents earned points for volunteering.  Top classes earned prizes throughout the year.

This program is run under our Volunteer Coordinator, which at this point is an unfilled position, therefore the Mustang Point program will not be run until this position is filled.  Parents: are you interested in getting more involved in the PTA?  Perhaps have a child that loved Mustang Points and would consider this position?  We’d love to have you “on board”! Contact Silja Shjarback at shjaresa@fidalgo.net or 588-0866 (or any board member) if you would like more information.

Mustang Point Update

May 7, 2009

How cool would it be if your student’s class could head over to Storvik Park on a sunny afternoon for lunch and some serious time on the new play equipment? Pretty Cool!

That is exactly what’s in store for the class that collects the most Mustang Points before the end of the year! It’s not too late—start racking up those points! Here’s how:

Your student’s class gets Mustang Points when you do almost anything that has to do with school! Volunteering in the classroom, attending a PTA meeting, helping out at a family night, serving on a committee, etc.

All you need to do it make sure that your time and attendance get recorded on the blue Mustang Points sheet at every event. Didn’t see a blue sheet? That’s okay—just let us know you were there and you’ll get credit. Send Silja an e-mail, leave a note in the PTA room, send it via carrier pigeon—but let us know! We want your favorite class to get credit!

Here’s what else you may not know—kids can earn Mustang Points too! That’s right! All they have to do is write their name and room number on the back of any “WOW” cards they get from staff or volunteers and put them in the envelope on the PTA room door. Kids can also get credit when they help out at events, too!

It’s so easy to get Mustang Points—lasso as many as you can before the year is out!

Go Mustangs!
