Teacher Appreciation and Walk and Wheel Week May 7-11

WE LOVE OUR TEACHERS!!!  Contact your student’s room parents about specific ways students can formally appreciate their teacher next week.

AND DON’T FORGET TO WALK OR RIDE YOUR BIKE TO SCHOOL!

As part of the Safe Routes to Schools grant that the city and school district received, the district is responsible for an “encouragement” piece. The city received almost $700,000 to make improvements so walking and biking to schools in town could be safer.  Walk and Wheel Week is a fun and friendly competition between Mt. Erie students and staff and those from Island View. All able students and staff are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes
to school next week May 7-11.

We will have (still need) volunteers at the school to punch cards each morning as walkers and bikers arrive.

Every student who has all 5 punches at the end of the week will receive a free tshirt. Wed May 9th is National Bike to School Day and students from both schools are encouraged to meet at Storvik where biking volunteers from the community will escort the Bike Brigades to Mt. Erie and Island View respectively.
