PTA Room Parents promote the link between PTA and home to help make the Mt. Erie community strong. Individual teachers decide the level of support that they will need for their classes. Room parenting can involve organizing family get-togethers outside of school hours, helping with holiday parties, helping with special events or projects, showing appreciation to the teacher, and/or providing other support for the teacher. They also will recruit volunteers for PTA events and provide a vital communication link between the PTA and families.
In order for the room parents to contact parents of the classroom, we are asking for parent’s permission for contact information. If you have not done so already, please fill out the Room Parent Contact form Room Parent Contact Form and return to school with your child or to the front office. Curious what a room parent’s specific roles are? Check out Room Parent Tasks Room Parent Tasks. You should receive a letter from your student’s room parents in the next week introducing themselves. Questions? Contact the room parent coordinator, Silja Shjarback at email@example.com
