Missoula Children’s Theatre/ Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

 

Auditions for Missoula Children’s Theater production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be held Monday, March 4th at 3:45. Permission slips will go out to all students on Monday, February 25th. The primary goal of MCT – indeed, the organization’s mission – is the development of life skills in children through participation in the performing arts. Within each MCT cast, girls and boys are equal; the disabled become able; the shy experiment with bravery; the slow are rehearsed to perfection; and the gifted become part of the whole. The lesson they learn is that all of them are necessary for the show to go on.

A young princess named Show White finds herself in peril when her step-mother, the Queen, is told by her Magic Mirror that the princess is fairer than she! Aided by her two Henchmen and a band of evil Bats, the Queen plots to get rid of Snow White. Snow White escapes from the Queen and from the Black Forest Creatures with help from Witless the Woodsman, and finds a home with the Seven Dwarfs. When the Queen learns of Snow White’s whereabouts, she attempts to poison Snow White. But, the Queen’s evil plans are thwarted when Snow White’s fearless Forest Friends, her father King Backwards, the Seven Dwarfs and the Prince come to her rescue.

Auditions will be held for K-6th graders in the gym Monday March 4th from 3:40-5:40. Approximately 50-60 students will be cast. If your child is chosen, please note that all rehearsals are mandatory and may run as late as 7:30pm.

They will also need to be available for the dress rehearsal and performances Friday, March 8th and Saturday March 9th.

We are still in need of an accompanist Mon-Fri after school and all day Sat. (possible $$$ compensation)

Volunteers are still needed to:

*Organize workshops/communicate with teachers (early Feb)

*Print and distribute the audition Posters (end of Feb), show posters (up by Mar. 6th)

*Provide take 3 dinners & one lunch for directors (March 4th-9th) reimbursement afterwards

*Process performance fees/ Write out receipts (March 4th) also provide a “Pay What You Can” jar for Sat (March 9th) performance.

*Type up, copy and fold programs for performances; a template is provided. (done by March 8th)

*Organize older students not cast to be on tech crew, (supervising backstage, running errands for directors, helping with lighting, sound, etc.)

*Ushers for Saturdays performance.
